Clare Share Fridge Communautaire Society is passionate about improving food security and reducing food waste in the rural community of Clare, NS. We do this through our food distribution activities, community pantries, annual holiday dinners and meal preparation educational program.

What we do

Monthly food boxes

Our volunteers prepare and hand out food boxes to registered clients on the first Wednesday of every month. Registrants can pick up their boxes at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Saulnierville.

Fridge-and-pantry system

Our community fridge-and-pantry systems are accessible, barrier-free and discreet. Our volunteers fill them regularly with fresh, frozen and non-perishable foods and household items.

Meal prep program

We team up with local high school students for a hands-on workshop on food literacy, budgeting and meal planning. In the kitchen, we’re building up our next generation of civic advocates.

Clare for the Holidays

This annual FREE turkey dinner on Christmas Eve is designed to combat and destigmatize food insecurity in our comunity. It attracts close to 50 volunteers and more than 500 dinner guests.
